New apps 'Birthday Forest' and 'StoresMunk' are creating a buzz in the market

KATHMANDU: Nepali apps developers seem to be on a roll — coming up with some of the most innovative applications the country has witnessed so far. Two new apps that are creating a buzz in a market that is slowly getting overcrowded are ‘Birthday Forest’ and ‘Storesmunk’.

And the winner of Pivot Nepal 2013 is...

At 9:00 am sharp, the pitching session of Pivot Nepal grand finale began with the finalists from the Business and Financial Services category. Mr. Anish Shrestha from eSewa presented first. He said eSewa strives to be the one stop funds transfer gateway for the nation. Following eSewa was M-Insurance. Mr. Vivek Bhusal presented the app as a way to organize insurance digitally providing hassle free insurance, easy claim services and direct access to policy information, claim assistance, enquiry and push notification.

Learning from Experience Outside Nepal - Pivot Nepal

We organized an informal session for the finalists with some of the personnel from infoDev, The World Bank and Nepal Young Entrepreneurs Forum (NYEF) — Hereafter referred to as 'Experts'. The session was held on April 4, 2013 to introduce them to each other, share the finalists' ideas and share the experiences of the experts with the finalists regarding the start up.
